Research Project
Understanding the atmospheric properties of low-mass stars in galactic star-forming regions.
Supervisor:
Dr. Geoffrey O. Okeng’o – University of Nairobi
This research work is aimed at studying the atmospheric properties of low mass stars in our Galaxy in selected star-forming regions. This involves analysis of photometric monitoring in the optical to Infrared wavelengths obtained using time series observations from both ground-based and space-based telescopes.
The objective is to establish a more comprehensive understanding of the atmosphere of young low mass stars in star-forming regions hence shedding more light on their evolutionary and internal properties which are crucial in unraveling the low mass end of stars.
